Maybelline Goodies!

Hey, friends! A few months ago I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the winners of Maybelline's Make Your Mark competition - don't ask me how I managed that - and my little goodie bag arrived last week! I'm assuming you're all as nosy as I am when it comes to prize packs, so I thought I'd share the loot with you all. Plus, this doubles as a mini review, and we all know how I feel about multitasking.

The one product which came as no surprise, given that it's release prompted the whole competition in the first place, was the Master Graphic liner. If I'm honest, I held off on trying this because I was intimidated by how 'Sharpie' it looked; I'm used to the Master Precise felt liner, I've got that down pact, so I felt like I wouldn't be able to use anything else. I was so gladly wrong, however, as this gave me a perfectly acceptable wing on the first go. First go. First go! This was not a fluke of skill, I can do liner but it takes approximately 84 cotton buds and some gentle sobbing before I get it to a place I'm happy with. In short: you need this liner, the triangle tip basically makes your wings for you. The only thing I will say is that it felt quite tacky throughout the day, so when I accidentally touched it while adjusting an eyelash, it transferred - but nothing setting with black shadow won't fix!

I was hoping with everything crossed for a mascara to show up in this little pack, because if you've ever discussed lashes with me, you know Maybelline mascaras are my ride or die. I have a few higher end mascaras, but I always come back to these babies because frankly, they work better. My hopes were answered in the form of the ever hyped Pumped Up Colossal Mascara, I hadn't tried this formula previously, but have been wearing it every god damn day since I received it. It has that wonderful volumising and lengthening effect that we all drool over, minus a wet formula - which, to be quite dramatic, repulses me. It hasn't quite beat out Falsies for my top spot, but it's pretty close.

This goodie bag alerted me to the fact that I've never owned a Maybelline shadow quad - what's up with that? Given that this is my favourite drugstore brand, you'd think I'd have tried at least one - but as it so happens, the Natural Smokes palette is my first. The shades are all very neutral and cool toned, so work well for a casual eye, or make great additions to more elaborate looks. So handy to have! Plus, they blend way better than I expected for a drugstore palette, A+ from me.

Another item which I was particularly excited to receive was the Coloursensational Elixir in Rose Redefined; I already own Vision in Violet, but never thought to try a neutral shade as I figured they wouldn't impress me enough to purchase. I've been wrong - again - this whole time, I seriously need to get my act together. Firstly, the formula on these things is incredible, it has a weight to it that doesn't leave a tacky feeling on your lips, but doesn't feel like it's going to slip off of your mouth either. Formula is a big deal for me when it comes to gloss, if it's not just right I physically cannot wear them (by which I mean it causes me slight discomfort and I don't like that). More interestingly, this shade is stunning. It blew me out of the water; as the name suggests, it gives your lips a rosy hue which makes them look so full and plump. I'm so damn impressed. I've already worn it six times. I'm buying every neutral colour from this collection as soon as financially possible.

Also included in the prize pack were two base items: the Fit Me Powder in 235 and the Dream Pure BB Cream in Medium. Unfortunately, I cannot use these as I'm definitely too fair- for reference, I colour match in their lightest foundation shade. Sad face! As my Mum has a warmer tone than I do, and thoroughly enjoys a good BB cream, I passed it onto her. When approached for comments she responded with "It's pretty nice". So, I hope that eloquent and descriptive review didn't take up too much of your day.

Finally, on a non make up related note, I also received a limited edition print created by Jasmine Dowling - I got lucky number 13 out of 20!

This was such an awesome little loot and I'm so grateful that I was chosen as one of the winners! This is the first time I've ever won anything! What's your favourite Maybelline product? I'd love to know!

Enjoy!
