Hey, friends! I loathe lipgloss (generally). Why would I want to walk around with perpetual goo-mouth? Why would I want my hair to stick to my face whenever the wind blows? Why?!



However, I still wear gloss on occasion, mainly because I've found two formulas that do not personally offend me on every level. So, if you also sit firmly on the anti-gloss team, but feel the need to shine up your pout every now and then, this is the post for you!



If I had to award a second place to one of these formulas, it would go to the Maybelline Color Sensational Elixir. I have two shades, Rose Redefined and Vision in Violet, which are as beautiful as they are wonderful in formula. These are slightly thicker than your average gloss, but they are not at all goopy. Instead, they have just enough weight to sit comfortably on your lips without shifting, while also providing great opacity. The only downside to these glosses is the fact that brighter shades will require a lipliner, as they feather a little as a stand alone product, but this is an easy fix.



My number one, go-to gloss is a tried and true favourite within the beauty community: Nyx Cosmetics Butter Gloss. I would go as far as to say I love this gloss formula - I'll give you a minute to retrieve your jaw from the floor - and I might just collect every shade. Of those I've tried so far, Eclair is my favourite, as it is my perfect nude. These are non-sticky, cake-batter-smelling tubes of wonder, which won't break down on your lips during the day, and you should definitely try them. Plus, they're under $10!
