New Beauty Roundup #1

Hey, friends! Since I love reading/watching other people's 'New In Beauty' posts, I simply had to join in with my own little series. Plus, this gives me the opportunity to provide you all with a bunch of first impressions en masse, effectively (hopefully!), eliminating my tendency to let products slip through my blog's cracks after they become 'old news' in the beauty community. In any case, let's dive into the inaugural volume of the New Beauty Roundup.

Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer
Hi, my name is Soph, and I'm a blurring primer addict. Putty-ing my T-zone is an essential part of my beautifying process, and so I jumped at the opportunity to try out this bad boy (thank you, Dermalogica!). This is much lighter than it's peers - i.e. Benefit Porefessional, or Make Up For Ever Smoothing Primer - which, at first, was scary to me. How was is supposed to fill the holes in my face if it didn't literally resemble putty?
Fear not, dear readers, as I was pleasantly surprised by the pore fillage. This is not what I would use on 'Dear God Are My Pores Always This Large?!' days, but for everyday use, this is my new go-to. It hasn't broken my sensitive skin out, and more importantly it comes with a little device to ensure you squeeze every last drop from the tube. Call the engineers and tell them to stop doing engineering things because we've just reached optimum levels of innovation.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation
A luminous version of my favourite drugstore base? Hi, yeah, take my money. I couldn't leave this baby behind in my local Priceline, and I'm very glad that I didn't. This stuff has the lasting power of its original predecessor, but with a dewy finish that is almost too much but definitely isn't. My only criticism is that it tends to photograph with a slight white cast, but I can live with that.

Nude by Nature Brushes
I'm unsure if these guys are strictly new, but they are definitely new to me and so they still count, ok? Cool. Anyhow, these brushes are brilliant. I was unsure of what to expect, but these bad boys have quickly become a part of my daily routine. Need to apply cream contour/highlight? Let me grab my handy dandy Concealer Brush. Buffing out a CC Cream? Buffing Brush. Trying to be a bronzed goddess? Contour Brush. You get the idea. I love them.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks
If you saw the post about my ABH Liquid Lip collection last week, you'll know that I nabbed some of their newly released lippie shades. Ashton, Kathryn, and Stripped are my new obsessions and I adore them ever so much. If you follow my Instagram, you've probably seen these bad boys getting a work out.

Rimmel Kate Sculpting and Highlighting Kit
Finally, this little guy landed in my PR drawer this month and immediately caught my attention. For all of the hype around contouring last year, there was certainly no abundance of drugstore options. I have the shade coral glow, which features a white gold highlight, cool-toned contour, and you guessed it, a coral blush. The blush and highlighter are divine, and have made their way onto my face area more than once in the last week, however, the contour missed the mark for me. I prefer a matte contour, and thus this shimmery shade was not destined for my face. Having said this, it would probably work well as an eyeshadow so all is not lost!
Also, the packaging is god damn beautiful.
