Makeup Geek Iconic Lipstick Review

Hey, friends! You may remember me from such blog posts as Makeup Geek Plush Matte Review and Swatch, and guess what, I'm here to review another subset of the MUG lip range, the Iconic Lipsticks. Let's get in to it, shall we?

Swatch and Review of the Makeup Geek Iconic Lipstick Range

Cost
Each of these 2g (.07oz) babies will set you back US$15 a pop, or US$230 for the entire bundle (saving you US$70, and coming with an aesthetically pleasing storage box worth US$13, heck yeah). Also, if you're inclined to buy the box separately, you totes can - options!

Formula
Although I'm not usually a fan of 'normal', bullet lipsticks - liquid mattes have truly won my heart - I am loving both the shine and matte formulas in this launch. The mattes aren't super drying and have great staying power, while the shine aren't too feathery and feel like a balm on the lips. Both formulas are über easy to apply, and pigmented to boot. I literally don't have a bad word to say, and so I shan't.

Shade Range
This 20 shade launch has truly impressed me. Aside from the usual nudes, reds, berries and corals, we also have taupes, browns and a true orange - some things which I often miss in a standard launch. As a self-confessed owner-of-more-lipsticks-than-humanly-necessary I often find lipstick launches lacklustre, but I have at least six of these in my handbag due to regular use, and have gently screamed their glory to my friends.
  • Shady - Warm dark purple (Shine)
  • Savvy - Muted medium purple (Matte)
  • Shy -  Purple/pink (Shine)
  • Proper - True pink (Matte)
  • Lively - Pink/plum (Matte)
  • Vain - Medium pink/purple (Matte)
  • Spoiled - Dusty rose (Shine)
  • Risque - Cranberry (Matte)
  • Witty - Red-toned brown (Shine)
  • Candid - Rose/brown (Shine)
  • Saucy - Brick  (Matte)
  • Feisty - Pink/red (Matte)

Overall
As previously mentioned, I have no bad words to say about these lovely little things. If you're a lipstick fiend, and are particularly partial to the traditional bullet, I recommend you tip toe over to the MUG site and get buying!

Enjoy!
