A Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Appreciation Post.

Hey, friends! This week my front door was graced with a package containing three new shades of Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, and oh boy were they worth the wait. After some general squealing and fumbling with the well-taped packaging I managed to get my mitts on the gorgeous little things and swiftly applied them to my face. Much like my first purchase from this collection, Weirdo, these little wonder tubes did not disappoint. Back when I made said initial purchase I wrote up a little post on how much I loved it, but in case you missed that, or want to see swatches of more than just Weirdo, here's another!

The catalyst for this purchase was the release of three gorgeous blue shades - this was hugely anticipated by everyone with lips, and I am only partially ashamed to say I waited up until they released at 3 a.m. Of the three shades available I picked up Abused, a dark purple-blue, which is expectedly gorgeous.

I'm still lusting after Blue Velvet, a royal blue, but decided that I should try and save some money at some point. Now to disregard that sentiment entirely, I also picked up cult-faves Unicorn Blood, a deep blood red, and Celebrity Skin, a dark nude.

The formula of these things is by far my favourite of all liquid lipsticks, for a couple of reasons. For one, it goes on completely smooth and with full opacity, making application about as simple as it gets. Speaking of application, the doe-foot wand has a little dip which fits the curve of your mouth perfectly, meaning you don't have to fiddle around with a lip brush! I've had no issues with patchiness, and have worn these for up to 10 hours without reapplication - so long as you're not eating anything oil-based, these things won't move. They're like full lip tattoos but, you know, not a horrendous idea. Having said this, a little makeup remover will take these right off once you're done for the day. Magic? Probably.

Another perk of these beauties is the fact that you can mix them to create custom colours, something the crafty child in me is thrilled about to say the least. Pictured below I am wearing a deep brown combination of Unicorn Blood and Weirdo, followed by a muted royal purple made with Abused and Celebrity Skin.

I honestly cannot recommend these enough, I could rant and scream about how beautiful they are all day, but I won't because I'm only mildly obnoxious. What I will say though, is if you're into liquid lipsticks or matte lips in general you need these in your life - at US$18 they're relatively inexpensive for a high end brand, and international shipping is pretty damn reasonable. I'm undoubtedly going to collect them all as soon as my bank account stops giving me the cold shoulder.

Have you tried these? Which is your favourite shade?

Enjoy!
