Things That Smell Good - 12 Days of Blogmas!

Hey, friends! I don't know about you, but I was never really a perfume loving gal. I mean, I'm partial to smelling good but I thought that spending large sums of money to smell better than simply 'clean' was undoubtedly wasteful. This all changed when my dear best friend came into my life, a certified scentaholic, who's perfume stockpile made me jealous every time I came into her presence. Since then, I have curated a teeny tiny - but still totally valid - collection and thought I'd share my favourites with you all!

First up is my all-time favourite, my holy grail, my signature scent: Prada Candy. To be honest, I'm really annoyed that this is the perfume that best resonates with my nose, because it's not cheap. So not cheap, in fact, that I stock pile it whenever it goes on sale in Priceline, and nearly cry when aforementioned best friend includes it with my birthday gifts.

It is described as "an elegant mix of musks in the top, a sensual balsamic vanilla accord of benzoin in the heart and sweet modern caramel in the base of the fragrance," and those words sound lovely.

Next up is one that I was not completely sold on until I received a roller ball sized sample in a Sephora Favourites collection last year: Chloe. It may have more to do with the fact that I wore this for the entirety of my solo trip to the US than the actual scent itself, but either way I adore this baby now.

It is said to have notes of "Pink Peony, Freesia, Lychee, Magnolia Flower, Lily of the Valley, Rose, Cedarwood, Amber and Honey" - pink peonies are my favourite flower so its no surprise that they're added into this delicious mix.

Thirdly I have another Chloe favourite, this time in the form of it's floral sister, See By Chloe. I stumbled across this bad boy in a happy accident whereby I had mistaken it for a different scent, but I love it nonetheless. It is as fresh as it's original counterpart, but a little more traditionally feminine and what I would consider a 'daytime scent'. You know, if fragrances conformed to time.

It contains notes of "Water Hyacinth, Apple Blossom Accord, Bright Jasmine, Vetiver and Musk," and is as delightful as it sounds.

Finally I have a celebrity perfume, which unusual for me as I generally do not buy into the scents of the rich and famous. However, Incredible Things by my queen Taylor Swift is a welcome exception. This is definitely more traditionally masculine which - despite what my previous picks may suggest - is one of my favourite types to wear. Having said this, it is a little floral which makes this much easier to pull of without seeming like you've doused yourself in Lynx.

Note-wise, this baby is boasting "Pink Pepper, Sparkling Grapefruit, Wild Passion Flower, Vanilla Orchid, Suede Flower, White Amber Drydown, Creamy Musk, Madagascar Vanilla and Haitian Vetiver". I don't know a lot of those words, but boy do they smell good.

What is your signature scent? I'd love to know!

Enjoy!
Sophia ♡
