The Best Way To Clean Your Beauty Blender!

Hey, friends! If you've met me in real life, you've probably heard me yell about how much my beauty blender. Seeing as most of you likely haven't suffered this fate, allow me to fill you in: the beauty blender is the best thing to happen to my face region, ever.

However, cleaning this little wonder sponge can be a little tricky - the internet is filled with mouldy horror stories of cleansing gone wrong, and it has struck fear into the hearts of many a makeup lover. Me included. To combat this unsanitary destiny, I religiously used the Beauty Blender BlenderCleanser Solid, which was effective although expensive (think $20-$30 for 28g of product, ouch). Naturally, the cheapskate in me went on the search for a cost efficient dupe, and your girl came up with the goods - for under $2. Self-five.

So what is this miracle product?

The Dove Beauty Cream Bar. It's literally bar soap, and is so perfect for cleaning your BB or any other cosmetic sponge - in fact, I use this to clean all of my makeup brushes too. Not only does it remove all residue, stains, and bacteria, the conditioning properties leave your sponges and brushes so soft that it'll take all of your restraint to keep from petting them all day.

As an added bonus, this baby works into a nice lather that doesn't require ten minutes of rinsing to remove, which I appreciate as a time-limited (and lazy) human.

I pick mine up from Priceline, where $1.49 will get you 100g of sweet, sweet product - a much better deal than the BB solid cleanser, where you're really just paying for the brand name.

So, my lovely readers, go forth and clean thy blenders with fuller bank accounts!

How do you clean your Beauty Blender? I'd love to know!

Enjoy!

  2. I clean mine with a Zote detergent bar. Never thought about soap but the detergent bar works great! And it was only a $1 at Home Depot! I refuse to pay $20 for the beauty blender cleaner. Such a rip.
