Hey, friends! To blush or not to blush? That is the question - or, at least, my question most mornings. I think, when done well, blush can be lovely. Who doesn't want that Oh, Yeah, I'm Naturally This Flushed and Beautiful look? However, I live in deep fear overdoing it in the rouge department, catapulting myself into a clown-like state that not even pressed powder can bring me back from.
So if, like me, you tend to avoid the stuff, I have a few foolproof blushes you can add into your arsenal which are perfect for days when you need a little colour in your life. Shall we?
Benefit Cosmetics Dallas Boxed Powder
The first, and favourite, of my blush recommendations is one that is grossly underrated within the beauty community. Dallas is one of those all rounders that is definitely not a want but a fair square, cross my heart, need. Its a warm, plum toned blush that blends perfectly with Hoola, or works beautifully as a natural all over bronze. Plus, it looks lovely worked through the crease. Oof, a triple threat, I love it.
Although it does sit at a steep $51, you get so much product (9g, hello) that its practically an investment. I've had mine for around a year, and I've barely made a dent despite how frequently it graces my face.
Essence Babydoll Blush
If you're after something a little more pink in tone, you need this baby. Did I mention its $5? Its $5.
Essence blushes have such a smooth, buttery formula and don't cling to dry patches (yes girl), which is a concern for my cheek area.
I also have the shade Autumn Peach, but Babydoll nails that Effortless, I Barely Tried look, and if you don't pick one up I'm not talking to you. Kidding. Kind of.
Stila Pretty in Pink Blush
Ok, I've left this little baby for last, as it was sadly a limited edition release. But, I figured it was worth including, in case any of you have one of these beautiful things sitting in the back of your drawer, abandoned out of fear of looking like a clown. Plus, I'm sure its on eBay somewhere!
Anyhow, this two-toned number is as silky as it is easy to work with (which is very), and applies so lightly that its virtually impossible to overdo it. I'd wager that a three year old could apply this, and it'd still look wonderful. Have you ever seen a three year old do anything? The word 'grace' doesn't exactly come to mind.
For the record, my favourite blush brushes are the Zoeva Cosmetics 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek, and Nude by Nature Contour Brush. What are your foolproof blush options? Let me know!
Enjoy!
