Winter Skincare Vol1. - Lush!

Hey, friends! Although this blog is not short of skincare talk, I am yet to properly sit down and dissect some of my favourite products for keeping my face area in check. Given that we're headed into winter in the Southern Hemisphere, aka the most important time in my skincare world, I figured now was as good a time as any to do just that. We're kicking things off with natural skincare, as this is what my epidermis is currently responding best to, so let's take a look at some of my Lush essentials!

Herbalism Cleanser
This cleanser has been my go-to for about three weeks now, and I cannot believe that I have gone this long without it. Boasting calming chamomile (see ya later, redness!), ground almonds (adios, dead skin particles!), and powdered herbs (catch you on the flip-side, impurities!), this guy really gets deep into the skin and cleans it right out. Moreover, as it is a clay-based cleanser, and thus does not rely on chemicals to breakdown gunk/dirt/sebum/grossness, it is incredibly gentle - no more tight, dry post-cleanse skin. This is best suited to oily or problem skin, though I am definitely more combination and have faced no issues; I can imagine this baby being pretty versatile. If you're put off by natural, herbal scents, you might want to block your nose, but I personally adore the scent of this dreamboat.

Mask of Magnaminty
As a beauty blogger and a human being with skin, I am constantly trying out new face masks, but I always, always return to Magnaminty. In fact, when given the opportunity to pick any item for free (!!!) at last week's Bloggers United x Lush event, my mind immediately jumped to this beloved little babe.  This is so wonderful if you are acne prone, as it contains honey (a natural antibacterial agent - very important for evicting nasties!), plus peppermint oil and nourishing kaolin to leave you glowing from below the skin's surface. There are also a few seeds and beans in there to exfoliate your little face ever so gently - so divine. Plus the cooling, minty scent takes me right back to Northern Hemisphere christmases, which I adore. Double plus, it's self preserving, giving it a vastly longer shelf life than other fresh masks.

Vanishing Cream
There's a reason this bad boy is one of Lush's best sellers (and its because it is bloody brill, let me tell you). Vanishing Cream is a light yet incredibly nourishing moisturiser which is perfect for acne prone skin, or particularly oily areas - although, again, I've encountered no issues on my drier skin. This stuff is packed with oil and butters, all of which are low-fat — a weird term to hear used in skincare, but it simply means that it is less comedogenic (pore-clogging) than full fat products. Oof, so luscious. Beware, you'll go through this stuff like it's oxygen.

Ro's Argan Body Conditioner
You've got to keep your body hydrated too, and I love this cult classic to do just that. This conditioner is packed with all the oils in the world, including Argan (for that sweet, restorative Vitamin E), which work to keep your bod in tip-top condition. Furthermore, it contains 20% glycerine to stick that moisture to your skin all day. If you're mildly offended by the smell of rose like I am, fear not, this stuff is super palatable!

Grease Lightning
I only have a sample pot of this spot treatment, but you can bet your last dollar that I will be spending my last dollars on a full-size as soon as I run out. This stuff contains antibacterial thyme, purifying rosemary and tea tree, as well as soothing lavender, meaning it will banish your spots without drying the heck out of your face. Love. Love. Love.

Are you a natural skincare aficionado? What are your picks?
Don't fret if natural isn't your thing, we'll be looking at a few different categories in the coming weeks!

Enjoy!
